HotDog CMS is here

· 1 min read

HotDog CMS is a website builder for people who want a fast, safe site without babysitting a server. Your pages are plain files, every change is a commit, and the public site is nothing but pages.

The editor runs in your browser, signs you in with your git platform, and never touches your web server. Every change is a draft you can preview, review and publish, and the checks catch broken links and missing alt text before anyone sees them.

It's open source: the engine and editor under the AGPL, the starter site and themes under MIT. Coming from WordPress, Ghost, Hugo or Jekyll? One command brings your site with you.

A word on where it stands: HotDog CMS grew out of the internal tools we use to run our own websites, and this is its first public release. It works, and this site is built with it, but it's early. There's much more to come, and things to fix before it's ready for general use. If something trips you up, tell us on the forum.
