Updating
New versions of HotDog CMS fix problems and add features. Updating is the same as installing, over the top of the old one.
Is there a new version?
hotdog-cms version
shows the version you have. The releases page shows the newest, with what changed. New releases are also announced in the forum.
Update
Follow the install steps for your system again: download, check, and move the new file over the old one.
Your sites aren't touched. They're in their own folders, and a new version reads them the same way.
After updating
- Run the checks on your site (
hotdog-cms check). New versions sometimes check for more, and it's better to find out before you publish. - If you run the editor, the forms endpoint or the pull agent on a server, update them there too and restart them.
- Your site's template isn't changed by an update: the files in your site are yours. The release notes say when the starter template has improvements you might want to copy in.
